Leadership conference concludes

Dubai - 2 January 2012

The youth have been advised to fix the goals and to do their best to achieve them.

Jamil Ahmed Khan, Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE, told the delegates of the concluding session of the Youth in Action leadership conference in Dubai that the youth must have a vision.

“They must have a role model to follow. They must set goals and go for them,” he said. “The youth are the hope of the future. It is therefore necessary to develop them with the right guidance,” Jamil said.

He highlighted the youth programmes taking place in Pakistan to promote leadership and career building aspects. The envoy also advised the youth to take part in extra-curricular activities.

Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister on Textile and Chairman of the Baig Group, said that Pakistani youth contribute 60 per cent of the total population and if channelised in the right direction, equipped with effective tools of education, they will be an asset to the country.

Hussein Adamali, Chairman of Swiss Arabian Group, advised the youth to chart their course and not to rush to achieve their goal.

He told them to gain experience, never allow anyone to discourage and to never give up. Certificates were given to the participants at the end of the three-day conference.
